Not surprisingly, Lev Leviev has his eye, most recently, on bitcoin. He has invested €500,000 in BlockTrail, the block chain visualization program. The project can track price and volume for bitcoin and can search for specific transaction details.
As BlockTrail co-founder Boaz Bechar told CoinDesk, “Our approach has been far more consumer-oriented, providing a free online site that enables anyone to view and analyse a bitcoin address, transaction, or other data from the network,”
BlockTrail is the first visible move into bitcoin by a Russian tech industry. BlockTrail is based in Amsterdam with clear Russian connections. At the moment, while Russia shies away from bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, the success of BlockTrail could pave the way for more of the use of bitcoin in the region.
