Iliad Third Quarter Revenue Increases By 5% To EURO 511.1 Million

Its third-quarter revenue of French Internet operator Iliad SA (ILD.FR) rose 5% as its Free brand subscribers continued to increase.  Revenue was EUR511.1 million for the three months ended September 30. It was up from EUR486.7 million in the same period of 2009.  Revenue was EUR1.53 billion for the first nine months of 2010, up from EUR1.45 billion in the same period of 2010.

Iliad reported 4.52 million broadband subscribers at the end of September, up from 4.5 million at the end of March, 2010. This includes 3.9 million who are using its brand Free.  In the third quarter, Free signed up a total of 36,000 new customers.

However, subscribers of Alice, the group’s other brand, continued to fall, dropping to 0.58 million at September 30. This is in contrast to 0.63 million at March 31, 2010 or 0.71 million at September 30, 2009.

This French company, which provides broadband, Internet, telephony and TV services in France, is getting ready to start providing mobile services in 2012 since it was given France’s fourth third-generation, or 3G, mobile license earlier in the year.
