Andrea Ferrante Becomes Manager for Swisscanto in Italy

Andrea FerranteSwisscanto, a leading asset management firm in the Swiss market, announced the appointment of Andrea Ferrante Manager for Italy. Ferrante reported to Ralf Brand, and has been responsible for developing international markets. Andrea Ferrante will take care of the input and business growth in the Italian market, offering his expertise of recognized value of both operators and analysts for Swisscanto. The expansion of the European Group – the fourth manager for mutual funds and a major player in the supplemental pension solutions in Switzerland – began in 1998 with Germany, then followed by Austria and England.

Andrea Ferrante, 44, joined Swisscanto after a long and important journey in the asset management industry. After an initial five-year experience in Private Banking Sanpaolo Bank in Vienna, as asset manager, he arrived in 1997 in Sanpaolo IMI Institutional asset management company (now Eurizon) as Head of banks and foundations. In 2007, he landed in Duemme SGR (Gruppo Banca Esperia) for the post of head of institutional clients. Thanks to roles in major banking groups and the Asset Management Company industry leader in Italy and in Austria, Andrea Ferrante has established himself as an expert on the Italian institutional market, and expert on hedge funds and hedge fund due diligence, real estate funds and products asset management in general.
